What is this Wiki about?

The purpose of this wiki is to provide information about Classic firearms. What is a "Classic firearm"? In most cases it will be considered a firearm produced for the civilian consumer market that is no longer manufactured and has attained a certain level of collector interest.

Additional areas of interest.

Individual gunsmiths, engravers, etc are also an area of interest.
The technology used to produce firearms, eg, patents, steel, gunpowder.

What is not covered?

Individual models, valuation, ie, current pricing will never be acceptable.
Information about individual models should be part of a larger work.
Valuation of an individual firearm is difficult at best. It is impossible via the internet.

Can anyone contribute?

You can upload images. Space for these is very limited, so please keep them under 20KB in total size. You must own the copyright or they must be in the public domain. Something you merely "grabbed off the web" is not acceptable.
